St Matthew's Centre

About the St Matthew's Centre

The St Matthew’s Centre in Sturton Street - an exciting new educational performing arts venue - has been occupied by the Cambridge School of Visual and Performing Arts (CSVPA) under a 25 year lease.

The new Centre has been created following a £2m refurbishment of the former Howard Mallet Centre and was named after the neighbouring St Matthew’s Piece.

Incorporating state-of the-art performance spaces and a coffee shop, this ambitious 16,000ft² project took around 18 months to complete and represents a direct investment of more than £5m into the regeneration of this important community facility.
